New World Bank analysis for 2020: Hong Kong ranks third on the Doing Business index

Israel climbs to 35th place, China to 31st and Hong Kong ranks in top 3

The World Bank praises Hong Kong, which was ranked third and received a respectable score of 85.3 this year in the Doing Business index. The rankings are based on dozens of variables which examine a series of important parameters for new businesses.

Hong Kong’s position in the first trio along with Singapore and New Zealand reflects a successful implementation of initiatives designed to improve the ease and convenience of business operations. Hong Kong has maintained a high ranking over the past decade, providing a convenient business environment for establishing headquarters and regional offices for international companies. The Hong Kong government will continue to promote close cooperation with the business sector with the aim of making Hong Kong’s business environment even more successful.
